Vietnam Day 6

Well I haven't done much today because I woke up with severe abdominal pains in the middle of the night and they have stayed with me all day, so we have decided to stay in and relax.

I have however arranged to donate some more things to a few people who after talking to them have figured out some things they are in need of. One family who's house is as big as the shed in my back yard needed a bed for her home, so I had someone go purchase her a bed for her and her family. I also bought propane cooktop burners for 2 different families. Helped pay tuition for a boy who wanted to go to school to become a mechanic and gave some money out to few other people in need.

There are so many people to help and there will never be enough money so it makes it really hard for me to decide who to help and how. We meet a lady who is in her 70's who has a husband that is paralyzed and the only income they have is from her working in a pepper farm picking peppers all day and making $30 a month. I felt so terrible after hearing her story that I gave her two months salary to help out. There are so many similar stories, that it just breaks my heart. I really hope I can continue to help out as many people as possible in the years to come and not just for right now.

I have also realized that the kids here do not have toys because its the last thing their parents think of buying, so I hope to be able to raise more money in the future and coming here again to see there faces light up with joy when they receive a toy for the first time. We will also be donating money to a few families to help pay for their childrens school lunches.

We have a few more hundred dollars left to donate and I think we are going to use the money to purchase mosquito nets, as many of the families do not have good nets and there are so many mosquitos in this county that carry disease. Many people die or get sick every year from mosquito bites.

If you wish to help donate in any way please contact me at walkerpalooza@gmail.com

The picture above is of my Aunt and a lady who is mentally and physically challenged that she has helped her entire life. After years and years of caring for her with no help from anyone, the government has finally decided to step in and care for her as my Aunt can only help her so much.

This is the bed and propane burner we purchased for one family.
